Tuesday night saw the fantastic Russell Kane bring his award winning Edinburgh Festival show ‘Smokescreens and Castles’ to the Bloomsbury theatre, and the Parliament team were there to watch! The cheeky Essex lad kept the audience in stitches with his highly original blend of stand-up and theatricality, re-telling stories from his childhood.
His act is refreshingly raw, delightfully silly and unexpectedly touching all at once, as well as being finely honed down to the body language and facial expressions.
Kane was preceded by an excellent support act, rising stand-up star Chris Ramsey, who very quickly won over the audience with his razor sharp ad lib and paved the way perfectly for a great night of comedy.
